Main brake cylinder

Removal and installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a cable from the index of level of brake liquid.
  2. Unscrew both brake pipelines from the cylinder. Stop up the ends of pipelines.
  3. Weaken fastening of the main brake cylinder from a face surface of the brake amplifier and carefully take out the cylinder, without spraying brake liquid on varnish surfaces. Installation of the cylinder is carried out in return to sequence removal. After installation pump over brake system (The section Pumping of brakes).

Repair of the main brake cylinder

First define the producer of the cylinder. On Nissan cylinders of various producers can be established. Elements of different executions cannot replace each other. If the ABS system is established — other cylinder is established. On an illustration both options of the main brake cylinder are shown.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a cover (1) and merge liquid.
  2. Clamp the cylinder in a vice.
  3. By means of a screw-driver remove a persistent cap of the piston (9) from the cylinder case. On the cylinder without ABS unbend two lock uvulas from the interior of a flange inside; on the cylinder with ABS unbend outside lock uvulas outside. Then remove a cap.
  4. Take out press the piston (6). It is possible to use the compressed air. Connect the compressed air to a branch pipe of a brake hose. Well wrap up the cylinder a rag that the piston far did not depart.
  5. At once check a cap. If one of lock uvulas is damaged, it is necessary to establish a new cap.
  6. Remove cuff fingers from the piston.
  7. If further dismantling is required, carefully wring out a compensatory tank (2) from the cylinder by means of a screw-driver. Take out a rubber nozzle (3) (always replace).
  8. Press the piston does not understand. All details clear brake liquid or alcohol. If the opening of the cylinder or the piston have satisfactory appearance, measure diameter of an opening and external diameter of the piston by means of a micrometer. The difference between values should not exceed 0.15 mm.
  9. Lower piston cuffs in brake liquid and establish on the piston.
  10. Thus watch the direction of installation of cuffs (see an illustration below). Again collect the cylinder according to assembly diagram. At installation of the piston press both details into an opening a screw-driver and establish a persistent cap. At the established ABS system press cams inside; without ABS wring out cams outside. Check, that the cap reliably sat on the case.
