Support of the crankshaft of injector and carburetor engines are various. At the carburetor engine the crankshaft has five support. On both ends it is used double covers of bearings. At the injector engine five covers of radical bearings are used, however on covers the frame of covers is established to keep their situation. On illustrations both executions of support of the crankshaft above are shown.

Measurement axial люфта crankshaft

Before removal of the crankshaft from the established engine it is necessary to measure axial люфт that the nobility, whether it is necessary to replace at assembly adjusting half rings on an average support. Act as follows:

  1. Establish the tsiferblatny indicator before the flywheel end as is shown in an illustration and check, whether makes axial люфт less than 0.3 mm. It is the most admissible люфт. At first it is necessary to establish the tsiferblatny indicator on "0".

  1. The lever resting against a crank shoulder (better the wooden handle of the tool) press a shaft aside, as shown an arrow on an illustration.

Crankshaft removal

For crankshaft removal the engine should be removed. In the Section Dismantling of the engine the majority of a preparatory work which are in detail described in the following heads is described:

  1. Remove a head of cylinders (The section the Head of cylinders and a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism).
  2. Remove the case pallet (The head of System of cooling and heating).
  3. Remove a drive of cam-shafts (The section the Head of cylinders and a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism).
  4. Remove a flywheel, an intermediate plate of the engine and an epiploon flange from a reverse side.
  5. Remove pistons and rods.
  6. On the injector engine, being guided by an illustration, weaken bolts of covers of radical bearings from edge to the middle (at first weaken both bolts on the flywheel party) and remove a bed of covers of radical bearings of a cover and the enclosed loose leaves. Mark each cover and the loose leaf (a color strip) so that it was possible to establish them in former situation. Lift the crankshaft and take out the top halves of loose leaves of radical bearings from the block of cylinders. Combine loose leaves with other loose leaves and the corresponding covers. Mark both adjusting half rings and remove from an average support.
  7. On the carburetor engine, being guided by an illustration weaken three covers of bearings in the sequence specified an illustrations below, for some passes and remove in the order of a cover. Remove the crankshaft as it is described for the injector engine.

Crankshaft epiploons

The forward epiploon is in a cover of a drive of cam-shafts, the back epiploon is in screwed on the block of cylinders a flange. It is possible to replace both epiploons on the established engine. Depending on execution the forward cover can or remain established, or should be removed.

Replacement of a forward epiploon of the crankshaft

  1. On the injector engine unscrew the bottom panel, a cover in the right wheel arch and a lateral cover of the engine and remove a remenny pulley of the crankshaft. Carefully squeeze out an epiploon a screw-driver.
  2. On the carburetor engine remove driving belts and all details established on the face party of the engine as it is described in the Section the Head of cylinders and a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism that it was possible to unscrew a cover of a drive of cam-shafts. Take out an epiploon from the forward party by means of a screw-driver. Thus do not damage a cover.
    For keeping of a belt pulley of the crankshaft include transfer.
  3. Hammer a new epiploon a suitable core (in both cases outside). Grease a working edge with a small amount of greasing. Depending on the engine establish either a cover, or the removed details. Depending on the established units after assembly adjust driving belts.

Replacement of a back epiploon of the crankshaft

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a transmission, a flywheel and coupling (or in option with an automatic transmission a driving disk).
  2. Weaken bolts of a sealing flange and uncover. Carefully clear sealing surfaces of the hermetic remains by means of a shaber. In the presence of small skill the epiploon can be taken out from the established cover.
  3. Beat out an epiploon from the inside outside, without having damaged thus the case. For this purpose use a reliable sharp opravka.
    Installation is carried out as follows:
  4. Carefully hammer a new epiploon a hammer to establish it on the center. Thus do not damage a working edge. The external surface of an epiploon should be level with the case.
  5. Cover the epiploon case with hermetic and again establish a cover.
  6. All other works execute in return to sequence removal.

Check of details of the crankshaft

  1. Carefully check the crankshaft on existence of damages and precisely measure radical and shatunny bearings. Necks of radical and shatunny bearings can be ground, that it was possible establish a shaft with loose leaves of bearings of the repair size.
  2. Clamp the crankshaft between centers the lathe or put external pins in prisms (see an illustration below) and check palpation on an average neck by means of the tsiferblatny indicator. Palpation should not exceed 0.04 mm. It is necessary to remember that palpation reflected in the indicator at one turn of the crankshaft should be divided on 2 to receive the valid bend. If palpation is more, it is necessary to replace a shaft.
Carefully by means of a screw-driver to take out an epiploon from a cover of a drive of cam-shafts.
At a zabivaniye of a forward epiploon the core should be established on all external surface.
Check of palpation of the crankshaft. To establish the tsiferblatny indicator on an average neck of the radical bearing and slowly to rotate the crankshaft established in prisms.

Measurement of a gap of radical and shatunny bearings

Usually the gap of bearings is measured by means of a polymeric hair of "Plastigage", however on these engines exact measurement of diameter of a neck of the bearing and internal diameter of loose leaves is recommended. At definition of a gap of bearings act as follows provided that there are external and internal micrometers:

  1. Well clear loose leaves of bearings and enclose in openings of bearings of the block of cylinders (according to designations of bearings). Enclose the bottom loose leaves in covers of radical bearings and establish covers on a case. On the injector engine screw a frame of covers.
  2. Tighten all bolts of covers of radical bearings, since inside outside, with the moment of an inhaling corresponding to Specifications (see an illustration for carburetor, an illustration for injector).
  3. By means of the internal indicator measure internal diameter of separate bearings, as is shown in an illustration. Thus measuring щупы at first establish as is shown in an illustration, then at right angle to it. Write down the received values for each bearing and each direction of measurement. The difference between measurements "And" and "In" gives ovality of openings.

  1. Being guided by an illustration below, measure diameter of each neck of the bearing. Thus make measurements in the And and In directions, and also in places "1" and "2". The difference between measurements "And" and "In" reflects ovality of a neck; the difference between measurements "1" and "2" reflects neck narrowing. Write down the sizes for each neck and each place of measurement.
Measurement of necks of bearings of the crankshaft. To measure diameter in places "1" and "2", and also in the And and In directions.
  1. Calculate a difference between A-in and 1-2 values. If ovality or narrowing lies out of admissible limits, necks should be ground. If values correspond demanded, subtract external diameter of a neck of the radical bearing from internal diameter of the same bearing. The result will give a gap which value is specified in Specifications.
  2. Calculate all gaps in the above described way. If gaps of any bearing reached boundary value, the crankshaft follows прошлифовать to establish loose leaves of bearings of the repair size.
  3. The same measurements to carry out on necks of shatunny bearings and bearings. Tighten nuts of shatunny bearings with the moment of an inhaling corresponding to Specifications (for this purpose a rod clamp in a vice and measure necks of bearings), and also internal diameter of loose leaves according to two illustrations below.

  1. Calculate gaps of bearings in the above described way and, proceeding from results, define a condition of necks. If люфт necks exceeded boundary value, the crankshaft follows прошлифовать. The right choice of loose leaves of bearings — is quite tough job and it is recommended at the address to your supplier of spare parts to be guided by below-mentioned instructions, correctly to pick up loose leaves of radical and shatunny bearings.
  2. In the block of cylinders on the place designated on an illustration numbers which point to a class of bearings of the crankshaft are beaten out. On a counterbalance of the crankshaft the same numbers are beaten out. If to look at the crankshaft in front at a class of the size of the first bearing it is brought at the left if it is a question of the injector engine. Figures from 0 to 4 are used.

  1. At the carburetor engine on the contrary, i.e. looking in front, the number beaten out at the left belongs to the bearing No. 5. In this engine figures from 0 to 2 are used only. Correctly to order loose leaves which have color designations, it is necessary to copy figures in the block of cylinders and figures on the crankshaft and to provide them to your supplier. Thanks to it the seller can pick up details demanded to you. If the shaft was ground you automatically receive demanded loose leaves.
  2. Similar division in the sizes occurs and for loose leaves of shatunny bearings which are identified on the basis of four figures.

Crankshaft installation

Being guided by various assembly diagrams:

  1. Establish the engine so that the party of a case of the crankshaft was from above. Insert into openings the top halves of loose leaves of bearings of the crankshaft. Loose leaves with oil openings are established in the block. At the left and to the right of the bearing No. 3 establish both adjusting half rings. If new loose leaves of bearings they, according to color designation are established, should be established in the corresponding openings. Directing ledges of loose leaves should enter into the corresponding openings. Well grease basic surfaces.
  2. Carefully lower the crankshaft in support.
  3. Well grease and establish loose leaves of bearings on necks taking into account the instructions set forth above.
  4. Establish covers on bearings.

Thus consider the following:

Sequence of an inhaling of covers of radical bearings of the injector engine. The arrow specifies forward.
    • For the carburetor engine be guided by an illustration and establish respectively covers. All covers have an arrow who after installation should be turned forward. Insert bolts of covers and, as is shown in an illustration, for two or three passes tighten with effort of 47-53 N • m. Several times move the crankshaft here and there before an inhaling of bolts that the shaft sat down in loose leaves.
    • On the injector engine establish covers of bearings according to designations and establish from above a frame of covers. Tighten bolts in the sequence specified illustrations for two or three passes with effort of 33-39 N • m. Then tighten them in the same sequence with final effort of 75-85 N • m.
  1. Check axial люфт by means of the tsiferblatny indicator as it is described in the subsection Measurement axial люфта the crankshaft. If axial люфт does not correspond to demanded value, means, at repair of measurement were carried out not rather precisely.
  2. Screw the epiploon case from a reverse side. Cover a sealing surface with hermetic.
  3. Establish pistons (Undressed Pistons and rods).
  4. Screw a back intermediate plate of the engine.
  5. Establish a flywheel or a driving disk of the converter of a torque and tighten bolts with the effort corresponding to Specifications. The flywheel or a disk should keep from a provorachivaniye that it is best of all to make if to insert between the crankshaft and a flywheel a wooden block. Use only bolts with a good carving, slightly oil a carving.
  6. Further assembly is carried out in already described sequence i.e. the head of cylinders, a drive of the distributive mechanism, the case pallet etc. as directed in separate sections are established. Installation of the pallet of a case is considered in Head engine Assembly.
