Removal and engine installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The engine acts in film together with a transmission down, i.e. the car should be respectively lifted, that there was enough place. For simplification of work it is required either the crane, or the strong assistant to lower the unit by means of a cable and a steel bar.
  2. In view of difference in removal of injector and carburetor engines of procedure are described separately, at first for injector engines.
  3. Remove a cable of weight of the battery. The battery can be removed, that there was more place. Besides, it prevents short circuit at work (for example if the tool falls to plugs).
  4. Unscrew a cowl. Lead round hinges of the panel of a cowl and unscrew bolts. Ask the assistant to hold a cowl that it could not overturn. Put a cowl in a reliable place not to damage it.
  5. Remove all plates under a forward part of the car.
  6. Remove the air filter as it is described in appropriate section.
  7. Merge cooling liquid as it is described in the Head of System of cooling and heating. Cooling liquid contains an antifrizny concentrate, and should be collected for repeated application in pure capacity. For release remove the bottom hose on a radiator (previously having opened a cover).
  8. Remove a radiator together with the fan as it is described in the Head of System of cooling and heating. In a case with an automatic transmission disconnect also hoses of a maslookhladitel from a radiator. Collect transmission oil in the substituted capacity.
  9. Remove the pump of the steering amplifier, without disconnecting hoses. Remove the generator and if is available, the conditioner compressor. Do not disconnect compressor hoses from branch pipes.
  10. Unscrew a reception pipe of the exhaust silencer from a final collector and release fastening of a reception pipe from a suspension bracket. In Head the Suspension bracket and a steering are given further instructions on this work.
  11. Being guided by an illustration, disconnect a bar of switching (1) and a persistent level (2) at the established manual transmission.
    In Head the Manual transmission, differential and the main transfer are given the further details of this work.

Detachment of a bar of switching at the established manual transmission

  1. At the established automatic transmission disconnect a switching cable on the party of a box and a gas cable on the engine party.
  2. Weaken lying in a fork head a nut (see an illustration below) and disconnect a coupling cable from the switching off lever when it becomes rather long for this purpose.
The cable of coupling keeps from the interior of a fork head.
  1. Following a bend of a cable of a speedometer, remove a bolt of a plate of fastening. Take out all cable of coupling from a transmission. The driving gear wheel remains on a cable. Stop up an opening in a transmission with a rag (see an illustration below).

  1. Disconnect a gas cable from the butterfly valve case.
  2. Disconnect all vacuum and air hoses between the engine and a body. Depending on the country of appointment and laws in force about adjustment of composition of the fulfilled gases laying of vacuum hoses differs. Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases contains details about adjustment of composition of gases.
  3. Disconnect all electric wires between consumers of a current on the engine and a body. The generator, the sensor of pressure of oil, the thermal sensor of the remote thermometer, the ignition distributor concern them a starter etc.
  4. Before disconnecting power supply system pipelines, it is necessary to reduce pressure in system. For this purpose open a cover of a box of safety locks and take out the safety lock represented on an illustration. Start the engine. After a while it will decay, as fuel will not move. Once again two-three times turn the crankshaft a starter that all pressure fell down. At once insert a safety lock into place. Now it is possible to disconnect all fuel hoses between the engine and a body.

  1. Establish a forward part of the car on support and unscrew forward wheels.
  2. Remove supports of brakes from both parties. Thus brake hoses from supports and pipelines not to unscrew. After weakening of two bolts suspend a support on a wire to a forward suspension bracket that the support did not hang on a hose.
  3. On each party of the car unscrew a nut of a spherical support from a rotary fist and disconnect a spherical support from a rotary fist by means of a stripper. Press cross-section the lever down while fingers of hinges will not be released. The bottom arrow indicates a junction of a spherical support illustrations. In the Section the Forward suspension bracket removal of a spherical support of a forward suspension bracket is in detail described.
Shooters point to connections which need to be disassembled for removal of power shafts.
  1. In the same way disconnect tips of steering drafts, however this time from the steering lever. This connection is designated on an illustration above by the left arrow. In the Sections Steering without the hydraulic booster and the Steering with the hydraulic booster (servoupravleniye) is in more detail described stripper use.
  2. Merge transmission oil.
  3. Disconnect power shafts from a transmission as Coupling and power shafts is described in Head and having taken out a rotary fist, wring out shaft outside from a transmission. Thus behind the hinge the screw-driver is established. Short breakthrough by a screw-driver take out from a differential gear wheel a lock ring and a shaft will jump out outside. Depending on shaft execution removal can differ, about what Coupling and power shafts is in more detail described in Head. Thus do not damage an epiploon in a transmission. If the epiploon is damaged, before installation of a power shaft it is necessary to replace it.
  4. Attach a suitable cable or a chain to both eyes of the engine and adhere a cable or a chain to the crane. If eyes for a raising are not present, it is necessary to prepare two strong steel corners and screw one behind, another in front of a head of cylinders. Raise the unit from an impellent compartment that the cable was tense a little. Hold the engine and a transmission in such situation.
  5. Substitute under a transmission the mobile lift (having enclosed between them wooden laying) and raise a transmission. Probably, it is required to tighten the engine lift.
  6. From the bottom party of a transmission unscrew and take out an average beam. It from both parties is fixed by two bolts and besides support of a suspension bracket connected in front and behind to the unit.
  7. Unscrew the forward engine mount represented on an illustration and the back engine mount represented on an illustration. Also unscrew a transmission suspension bracket. Always watch that the weight of the unit was removed from support. If it is required, lower or raise a crane. When unscrewing an engine mount it is necessary to follow some instructions:
    • When weakening a suspension bracket on the face party remove only the bolt inserted in the middle with a nut.

    • When weakening a back engine mount unscrew only an engine bracket from the block of cylinders.

    • Support of an engine mount remain on the engine and can be if necessary unscrewed after unit removal.
  1. Check, that all connections between the unit and a body were weakened and lower slowly the engine down. Thus respectively operate the lift and the crane. To direct the unit, the help of the assistant is required. When lowering watch not to damage an engine detail, i.e. hoses, cables, pipelines etc. Watch, that brake pipelines and the main brake cylinder were not damaged.

Removal of the carburetor engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a weight cable from the battery. The battery should be removed, that there was more place. Besides, short circuit (for example if the tool falls to plugs) is prevented.
  2. Unscrew a cowl. Lead round hinges a pencil and weaken bolts. The assistant should hold a cowl that it did not overturn. Put a cowl in a reliable place not to damage it.
  3. Remove everything the bodies of the panel screwed under a forward part.
  4. Remove the air filter as it is described in the corresponding chapter.
  5. Merge cooling liquid as it is described in the Head of System of cooling and heating. Cooling liquid contains an antifrizny concentrate therefore for a reuse it should be collected in pure capacity. For plum disconnect the bottom hose from a radiator (previously having opened a radiator cover).
  6. Remove a radiator together with the fan.
  7. Unscrew support of the inlet pipeline that it was possible to reach the cable of the battery connected to a starter.
  8. Weaken a belt of the pump of the steering amplifier and remove the pump without disconnecting hoses.
  9. Unscrew a reception pipe of the exhaust silencer from a final collector and release fastening of a reception pipe from a suspension bracket.

  10. Being guided by an illustration disconnect a bar of switching (1) and a persistent level (2). In Head the Manual transmission, differential and the main transfer this work is described in more detail.
  11. Weaken a nut in a fork head (see an illustration) and disconnect a coupling cable from the switching off lever when it becomes rather long at the expense of weakening of a nut.
  12. Following a bend of a cable of a speedometer, remove a bolt of a plate of fastening. Take out all cable of coupling from a transmission. The driving gear wheel remains on a cable. Stop up an opening in a transmission with a rag (see an illustration).
  13. Disconnect a gas cable from the lever on the carburetor.
  14. Disconnect all hoses and pipelines between the engine and a body.
  15. Disconnect all electric wires between consumers of energy on the engine and a body. The generator, the sensor of pressure of oil, the thermal sensor of the remote thermometer, the ignition distributor concern them a starter etc.
  16. Disconnect топливопроводы between the fuel pump and the pipeline from a tank.
  17. Establish a forward part of the car on support and unscrew forward wheels.
  18. Remove supports of brakes from both parties. Thus brake hoses from supports and pipelines not to unscrew. After weakening of two bolts suspend a support on a wire to a forward suspension bracket that the support did not hang on a hose.
  19. On each party of the car unscrew a nut of a spherical support from a rotary fist and disconnect a spherical support from a rotary fist by means of a stripper. Press the cross-section lever down while fingers of hinges will not be released. The bottom arrow indicates a junction of a spherical support illustrations.   20. In the same way disconnect tips of steering drafts, however this time from the steering lever. This connection is designated on illustrations Steering without the hydraulic boosterand the Steering with the hydraulic booster (servoupravleniye) stripper use is in more detail described.
  21. Merge transmission oil.
  22. Disconnect power shafts from a transmission as Coupling and power shafts is described in Head and having taken out a rotary fist, wring out shaft outside from a transmission.   1. For this purpose unscrew only three bolts designated by shooters.
  2. Unscrew the back engine mount represented on an illustration. Also unscrew a transmission suspension bracket. Always watch that the weight of the unit was removed from support. If it is required lower or raise the lift.
  3. Check, that all connections between the unit and a body were weakened and slowly lower the engine down. Thus respectively operate the lift and the crane. To direct the unit the help of the assistant is required. When lowering watch not to damage an engine detail, i.e. hoses, cables, pipelines etc. Watch, that brake pipelines and the main brake cylinder were not damaged.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Place the engine and a transmission under the car and fix a cable on eyes. Lift the unit on a cable in an impellent compartment while it approximately will not occupy demanded situation. Check, that on a way there were no disconnected elements. At a raising watch not to flatten any elements. Watch, that brake pipelines and the main brake cylinder were not damaged.
  2. Level the engine in suspension brackets and establish such tension of a cable that it was possible to fix engine mounts. At screwing up of engine mounts follow the following instructions:
The engine mount height on a cross-section beam should correspond to the specified size. Only after that to tighten horizontally inserted bolt with a nut.
  1. Horizontally inserted bolts tighten with effort of 45-55 N • m.
    • Tighten bolts and bolts of a back suspension bracket of the unit with effort of 45-55 N • m. Tighten a big through bolt with the same effort.
    • At the established manual transmission represented on an illustration above the engine mount should be adjusted on height. The console of a suspension bracket has longitudinal openings and the inserted bolt it is necessary to tighten a nut with effort of 62-78 N • m when the size shown on an illustration will be kept.
    • Tighten a cross-section beam on the bottom party since both ends with effort of 77-98 N • m. If the back support was removed, tighten it with effort of 50-60 N • m. If the bracket on other party of the engine it was unscrewed it is necessary to tighten with effort of 45-55 N • m.
    • All other moments of an inhaling of an engine mount are specified on illustrations elements Established on the injector engine and the Elements of an engine mount established on a cross-section beam. The arrow indicates the forward party of the car As the inhaling moments strongly differ from each other, it is necessary to be very attentive not to break a bolt.
  1. Unhook a cable from the power unit and clean the lift.
  2. Insert power shafts into a transmission as Coupling and power shafts is described in Head.
  3. Connect all electricity cables between consumers of the electric power on the engine and a body. The generator, the sensor of pressure of oil, the thermal sensor of the remote thermometer, the ignition distributor concern them a starter, power supply system details etc. Connect into place топливопроводы.
  4. Connect all vacuum and air hoses between the engine and a body. Depending on the country of appointment and laws in force about adjustment of composition of the fulfilled gases laying of vacuum hoses differs. In Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases details about adjustment of composition of the fulfilled gases are given.
  5. Connect into place a cable of gas and check, that the butterfly valve when squeezing a pedal of gas completely opened.
  6. Insert a cable of a speedometer and establish the plate of fastening shown on an illustration. Tighten bolts of a plate of fastening.
  7. Attach a coupling cable to the lever of inclusion and tighten an adjusting nut. Adjust a coupling pedal as Coupling and power shafts is described in Head and tighten a lock-nut.
  8. At the established automatic transmission connect to a box a cable of switching and a gas cable.
  9. Being guided by an illustration, attach a bar of switching (1) and a persistent level (2) if the manual transmission is established. In Head the Manual transmission, differential and the main transfer the detailed description of this work is given.
  10. Screw a reception pipe of the exhaust silencer on a final collector and fix a pipe in a suspension bracket. In detail this work is described in Head the Suspension bracket and a steering.
  11. Establish the pump of the steering amplifier if that is available.
  12. Establish a radiator as it is described in the Head of System of cooling and heating. If the automatic transmission is established, connect to a radiator a maslookhladitel. Check level of transmission oil, if necessary add.
  13. Fill in cooling liquid as it is described in the Head of System of cooling and heating.
  14. Establish the air filter and connect soaking-up hoses.
  15. Screw a cowl. Labels of hinges should coincide. Impose a cowl by means of the assistant that it could not overturn.
  16. Start and warm up the engine. Check the moment of ignition and engine idling, if necessary adjust.

Detachment and transmission accession

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Unscrew a starter from a coupling case.
  2. Weaken bolts between the engine and a transmission.
  3. Disconnect a box from the engine. Watch, that the weight of a transmission did not influence a coupling shaft. Accession of a transmission is carried out in return sequence.

Engine mounts

As it was already mentioned in the previous chapter of a suspension bracket of injector engines differ from suspension brackets of carburetor engines. Not to allow mistakes at an inhaling of bolts it is necessary to be guided by illustrations. The assembly console designated (7) on an illustration, is screwed on the engine. The console has longitudinal openings which serve for engine mount adjustment on height. The back support (6) is screwed on a cross-section beam and keeps in bearing (8).
